Today the topic of Top Ten Tuesdays is Top Ten Favorite Book Quotes.

I don’t really collect quotes much but a few have stayed with me. They’re pretty much from just a few favorite authors.

Lois McMaster Bujold, A Civil Campaign

Steven Brust, Iorich

4, ”A weapon is a device for making your enemy change his mind. ”

Elizabeth Bear, All the Windwracked Stars

7, ”God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of his own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players, to being involved in an obscure and complex version of poker in a pitch dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a dealer who won’t tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time.”
Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, Good Omens

8, ”The whole of life is just like watching a film. Only it’s as though you always get in ten minutes after the big picture has started, and no-one will tell you the plot, so you have to work it out all yourself from the clues.”
Terry Pratchett, Moving Pictures

9, “Just because they are really out to get you doesn’t mean you aren’t paranoid.”
Steven Brust, Issola

10, ”You get what anybody gets – you get a lifetime.”
Neil Gaiman, Sandman
