The Broke and the Bookish blog hosts the Top 10 Tuesdays. This time the topic is anticipated reading in 2011.

I’m listing books I’m looking forward to reading next year. Most of them have been published earlier.

1, Iorich by Steven Brust. The next book in his ongoing fantasy series is coming out in paperback in February.

2, Precious Dragon by Liz Williams. The next one in her excellent futuristic fantasy series about Chief Inspector Chen.

3, All the Windwracked Stars by Elizabeth Bear. From her website: “It’s a dark and dreaming story of a steampunk alternate future, in which battered demigods roam the streets of ancient cities and heroes–mortal, immortal, and doomed–do what terrible things they must, in the hope of life and the face of the end of everything.”

4, The Difference Engine by Gibson and Sterling. This is supposed to be the definitive steampunk novel.

5, Prospero Lost by L. Jagi Lamplighter which has gotten rave reviews all around the blogsphere. It’s a sequel to Shakespeare’s Tempest.

6, More C. J. Cherryh! Chanur’s Legacy is the last of the Chanur series and then I’m going to read more from her.

7, Darkness Calls by Marjorie M. Liu. Again a next in a series. This one is about the last Demon Hunter in the world.

8, Dayhunter by Jocelynn Drake. Also a next in the series. In contrast to the previous one, this is about a powerful vampire who has to team up with a vampire hunter to save the world.

9, Toungues of Serpent by Naomi Novik. I’m still waiting for it to be released at Audible.com.

10, Is it bad form to list a book when even the first draft isn’t done yet? Still, I’m really looking forward to Lois McMaster Bujold’s next book which is likely to be set in the Vorkosigan universe.

I’m also looking forward to the reading challenges and discussing books with other book lovers!
